Abstract

Youth sexuality has become a public health concern world wide. The objective of this study was to identify the perceptions and attitudes surrounding condom use amongCameroonian students.
Materials and methods


This was a qualitative study based on the theory of planned behavior. Group interviews were conducted with 72 students.
Results- Participants identified: a) four advantages of condom use and eightdisadvantages of condom use; b) five groups of people whowouldapprove of condom use and four groups of people whowoulddisapprove of condom use; c) sevenfactorsthatwouldfacilitate condom use and six factorsthatwould not facilitate condom use.
The results of this study help to understand the sexual behavior of college students and explain the cause of un protected sex.
